Product Description

Near the end of last year, we had a run of two Gori Gesha coffees, a carbonic and regular natural process. They both quickly sold out, I've been waiting for the fresh crop, and here it is! This coffee is from the lesser-known Gesha region of Ethiopia, bordering the Gesha forest, and of the heirloom native Gori Gesha and Gesha 1931 varietals. Imported, Ethiopian sourced Gesha coffees grown in Central America are commanding exorbitant pricing, thousands of dollars per pound at auction, due to the unique and amazing cup qualities of Gesha coffees. All of those award-winning coffees are originally derived from this precise region; this is the origin, and purchasing these coffees supports the local Minit people who have tended the forest and native coffee for centuries. This coffee is the double anaerobic fermentation, going through 2 extended sessions of anaerobic fermentation. Removing oxygen from the process slows the fermentation down, which allows for a unique, more complex flavor profile.

Intensely fruited, notes of Smucker's raspberry jam, cherry cordial, and fruit leather are front and center, with German chocolate cake, gentle spice notes, and delicate hibiscus florals. A basket of fruit any way you brew it!

Sold in 1lb increments.
